Project 1- Footprint Introduction
Description: This introduction activity would be great to get to know students. First, the students should trace their foot (or feet if they need more space) onto a piece of construction paper. After this, they can add things to it that are important to them, or represent something about them in some way. The students' names should be included on it, and they should use at least three different types of media. I used construction paper, marker, pen, paper, cardboard, and stickers. Some of the symbols I used to represent myself are:
Wedding invite: to show that I am engaged, and he is a large part of my life
VBS Cutout: to show that I am religious and care about my church
Sheet Music: to show that I love music, and was in show choir and played violin and piano throughout my life
Extension: To add on to this project, the teacher could use this to help the students learn about character development. When reading a story, the teacher could assign each student a character in the story, and have them create a footprint for that character. They should include symbols that would be important to that character, and then they could present the footprint to their classmates.
