Hidden Safari

For this project, we started drawing a picture very lightly in a light blue crayon. We then layered patterns in warm colors on top of it, trying to hide what we drew. We wrote down three hints at the bottom on a notecard for people to try to guess what our animal is. The animal is easily seen when looking through a red, transparent, plastic material that we made glasses out of. Mine is an elephant.

Extension activity: Instead of having students write three clues at the bottom on a note card, students could have to make a presentation over this animal including its life span, habitat, food source, etc, and present it to their class before they show what their animal is.
